What is the Canfit™ VisualCAM NG™ software?

VisualCAM NG™ is a software program which works with all of Vorum's software and hardware products (Canfit™ P&O Design software and Canfit™ P&O 6-Axis carver). It allows for carving of the most complex orthopedic seat and bed shapes. The software itself takes the designed shape from the Canfit™ P&O Design software and processes the information to create a file which in turn will control how the Canfit™ P&O 6-Axis carver carves the shape. With only a few mouse clicks, the user can load the designed file, select a block and have the software automatically generate a precise and efficient tool path. The 3D preview interface allows the user to visually confirm the accuracy of the carved product before actually sending it to the machine.


This program is very easy to operate and will save the user time and money in the process of carving finished shapes. Functions within the Canfit™ VisualCAM NG™ software allow the user to move the shape horizontally and vertically and also to flip the shape around a vertical axis. This program has been designed specifically for the use with the Canfit™ P&O 6-Axis carver.

What comes with the Canfit™ VisualCAM NG™ software?

VisualCAM NG™ includes the Canfit™ VisualCAM NG™ software. This software allows you to select the design file and block you want to use. It will also show you whether the shape will fit in the selected block size. Using this software, you are able to take the shape you designed in the CAD software and prepare it for carving on the Canfit™ P&O 6-Axis carver.

Set up

A Vorum product support engineer installs the VisualCAM NG™ software at your site during the same visit as the Canfit™ P&O 6-Axis carver installation.

How does the Canfit™ VisualCAM NG™ software work?

  1. Create your shape using our design program: Canfit™ P&O Design software
  2. Load the design file in Canfit™ VisualCAM NG™
  3. Select a block
  4. Position the shape in the block; the software will show you if the shape fits or not.
  5. VisualCAM NG™ creates a carve file that can be carved on the Canfit™ P&O 6-Axis Carver
