What is the Canfit™ Seating Design software?

Customized seats can be created quickly and easily with the Canfit™ Seating Design software. The application has the capability to import scanned (digitized) shapes to ensure accurate extraction of measurement data and provide the clinician with additional shape information. Compare your modified or "active" shape with your scanned patient shape throughout the design process.


How does the Canfit™ Seating Design software work?

  • Data is obtained - Clinician records width and length measurements of the patient at specific levels along the torso and lower body.
  • Library shape is selected - Select a library shape from the list of shapes provided.
  • Measurement data is entered into the design program - Generates a fully modified seat based on the library shape selected.
  • Shape is carved - The seat shape may be carved "as is", or further changed via interactive on-screen modification using the extensive and powerful Canfit™ suite of design tools.

What do I need to get started with the Canfit™ Seating Design software?

The Canfit™ Seating Design software may easily be used in conjunction with a central fabrication facility and an associated carver.

Libraries - Use our existing libraries or develop and integrate your own

Large libraries of seat shapes are available for various clinical requirements. The user may choose to purchase existing library shapes and/or supply seat library shapes to Vorum Research Corporation for inclusion in a customer-specific digital library. Users with a scanGogh II scanner and P&O Design software can digitize their plaster positives or negatives to develop their own library of shapes, or users can modify existing library shapes and add these revised reference models to their library.

Types of Canfit™ Seating Design software:

  1. Canfit™ Sitting TLSO Design software (compatible with the Canfit™ 3-Axis and 6-Axis carver.)

  2. Canfit™ Multi-Axis Seat Design software: coming in Spring of 2010 (compatible with the Canfit™ 6-Axis carver).
